Another Stupid Break Up Poem Even Though I Never Dated You

I know your slender fingers
Will never weave through my hair

You'll never play your guitar for me
Or introduce me to your dogs

I have nobody to talk politics with now
My friends regurgitate what they're told

You'll never drink coffee with me again
Or eat lunch at our spot

In fact you'll take other girls there
Stronger, bolder, prettier girls

With Spanish hips and sharp eyebrows
They'll swallow you whole

But in the morning
When you wake up with her next to you

Bare breasted and in love
You'll drink your coffee and watch the news

I won't be there to trash talk politicians
Or steal sips of your black coffee

And you'll realize this
And it'll get to you

Like it already has for me

Smoke Break

Lulled eyes,
Hollow cheeks,
Blood stains,
And cheap meat.

Smoke burnt throats
And dying breaths.
Crisp frost
And packs of dread.

Air like musk
And spice
And cheap cologne
And fist fights.

Clear blue eyes
Slowly scorching
And singeing
And charring.

First he's fine
Now he's laughing
Now he's crying
Now he's wailing.

And there I sat,
On the same cold pavement,
As his insides
Spilled on to the floor.
